Sioux Falls, SD - The University of Sioux Falls men’s soccer team won their seventh contest in a row, defeating Northwestern College (5-11-1 overall, 3-8 Great Plains Athletic Conference) by a score of 2-0.

The match remained gridlocked at 0-0 until after halftime when sophomore Isaiah Schafer (Lakewood, Colo) knocked in a Ryan Keohane (Fr.; Rapid City, S.D.) pass at the 58 minute mark. Schafer returned the favor with a pass that Keohane put in at the 77 minute mark. Schafer has four goals and three assists on the season while Keohane has five goals and a team-leading six assists.

Junior goalkeeper Patrick Purdy (Grand Island, Neb.) had three saves to help USF to their fourth shutout of the season.

The Cougars (10-6-1 overall, 8-2-1 GPAC) have one regular season contest remaining, playing Concordia University (Neb.) (4-12-1 overall, 2-8-1 GPAC) on Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 pm at the USF Sanford Complex. A Cougar win would guarantee a second place finish in the GPAC and home field advantage in the conference playoffs.
