Sioux Falls, SD - It was a tough home opener for the University of Sioux Falls wrestling team, as they dropped a pair of matches at the USF triangular. First, they were shutout 51-0 by NCAA Division II and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference member Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

In the second match No. 17 ranked Morningside College, a GPAC rival, defeated the Cougars 32-12.

After falling behind 16-6 with the Mustangs, the Cougars responded by taking two of the next three matches. Senior Koln Fink (Harrisburg, S.D.) and junior Travis Godbersen (Sioux City, Iowa) earned crucial victories in the 157 and 174-pound weight classes to cut the lead to a 19-12.

Even with several strong efforts, the Mustangs proved to be too strong and took the final three matches to seal the victory.

Next up for the Cougars is the Augsburg College Open (St. Paul, Minn.) held on Saturday, November 21, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
