Sioux Falls, SD - Several members of the University of Sioux Falls track and field teams competed against competition made up mostly of NCAA Division I and Division II athletes at the Husker Invite held at the Devaney Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The 600 yard race yielded great performances on both the men’s and women’s side of USF. Sophomore Lindsay Reinhardt (Vancouver, Wash.) sprinted to a huge personal record and school record, completing the race in 1 minute, 25.63 seconds. She placed 8th out of 17 runners. Sophomore Brady Velgersdyk (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished fourth out of 15 runners in his race, breaking the school record with a time of 1 minute, 12.30 seconds.

USF’s 4x400 meter teams also ran their fastest times of the season. Freshman Kendra Knight (Mitchell, S.D.), freshman Leah Wensmann (Aberdeen, S.D.), sophomore Becca Bedard (Rapid City, S.D.) and Reinhardt completed the race in 3 minutes, 55.68 seconds to beat several area school and crush the previous school record by over 2 ½ seconds.

The men’s team was comprised of junior Zane Peterson (Ashton, S.D.), freshman Tommy Torok (Sioux Falls, S.D.), sophomore Colin Koth (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Velgersdyk combined to post a time of 3 minutes, 21.65 seconds to beat several area schools and finish fourth in their race.

Sophomore Kayla Friesen and freshman Kristin Killough finished 8th and 11th in a field of 18 pole vaulters, both hitting marks of 11 feet, 11.75 inches. Sophomore Sarah Gilbert (Papillion, Neb.) also competed today, finishing 14th out of 19 high jumpers.
