USF XC Finishes 3rd and 6th at NSIC Championships

The University of Sioux Falls cross country team placed four runners in the top 20 today to finish third on the men's side and sixth in the women's group in their first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship held at Les Bolstad Golf Course on the University of Minnesota campus.

Billy Brockmuller, Matt Horan, Bobby Brockmueller and Sierra Harder were all-conference performers. The top 10 in each respective race received first team all-conference, while 10-20 were tabbed second team.

Billy Brockmueller crossed the finish first for USF's men squad with a 25:59.3 placing him third overall for first team all-conference plaudits. Matt Horan (26:01.1) finished 12th, while Bobby Brockmueller (26:17.2) claimed the final all-conference spot in 20th.

Ethan Tabbert (26:28.2) and Jared Noyes (26:54.9) added strong times finishing 22nd and 32nd respectively.

On the women's side, Harder (23:20.6) led USF with an impressive 14th place finish against a stiff field that featured five nationally ranked teams, including No. 1 Augustana. Shelbie Pettie (23:41.2) and Becca Steadman (23:55.2) gave the Cougars two more runners in the top 30, finishing 23rd and 30th overall.

Running in the four and five spots were Tessa Stoltenberg (24:00.2) and Lindsey Mettler (27:13.3). Stoltenberg took 32nd, while Mettler finished 73rd.

Next, the Cougars travel to Joplin, Mo. November 3 to compete in the NCAA Central Regional meet.
