The
Sioux Falls women's basketball had one player capture All-NSIC honors
as the league announced its all-conference team on Tuesday.
Junior forward
Laura Johnson was named to the 10-member NSIC First Team.
The native of Cedar Falls, Iowa ended the year ranked in the NSIC's top-10 in six statistical categories.
Johnson's 35.44 minutes
per game average was second only to Katie Wolff of Winona State (35.65)
and she finished third in defensive rebounds per game (6.93). She ended
the year shooting 86.8% (59 of 68) from the
free throw line, fourth-best in the NSIC and a new USF single-season
record.
She also stood sixth in
three-point field goal percentage (42.6%), tied for sixth in blocked
shots per contest (1.11) and seventh in three-point field goals made
(60).
Johnson ranked 16th in the league in scoring at 13.3 points per game.
The Cougars finished sixth in the NSIC South with 9-13 mark in conference play and a 12-15 overall record.
