For the University of Sioux Falls, spring football is now underway. The NCAA allows DII institutions a total of 15 practices during the spring season and USF plans to utilize all of them to prepare for the 2013 season.
USF spring practice began this past Monday, April 1 and is scheduled to conclude Tuesday, April 30th. Additional dates to remember include Cougar Kids Day on Saturday, April 20 and the annual Spring Game which is set for Friday, April 26. Both will also be hosted at Bob Young Field.
The cougars will take the field approximately three days each week throughout the month of April. Practices will generally take place Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and Friday evenings.
In its first full season as a full fledge member of the NCAA DII, USF earned a 9-2 mark and enjoyed six weeks in the national top-25 poll, ranking as high as No. 17 last season.
The Cougars open their season Saturday, September 7 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
