Sioux Falls' sophomore Tavia Rutherford followed up her opening act with a 79 in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Central Regional Championship Monday at St. Joseph Country Club.
With 36-holes complete, Rutherford's two-round total of 157 (78-79) places her in a tie with Ashlynn Hall of Southwest Oklahoma State for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships, which will be held May 15-18 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
If the tournament ended today, current leader Rebecka Surtevall of Arkansas Tech, Rutherford and Hall would each advance as the top three players not on a top three team.
The top three teams are currently Central Oklahoma, Augustana and Northeastern State. Central Oklahoma (641) jumped two spots in the team standings to sit in first with a three shot lead over Augustana (644), while Northeastern State (652) trails Augustana by eight strokes in third.
The final round of the regional championship will take place Tuesday. For more information about the 2013 NCAA DII Women's Golf Championships and live results, click HERE.
