The University of Sioux Falls women's team shot a 337 in their season-opener today at the Augustana Labor Day Triangular. The Cougars charted two top 10 finishes and placed second overall against NSIC foes Augustana and Southwest Minnesota State, who completed the three team field.

Augustana (307, +23) claimed both the individual and team victory, as each of their scorers placed in the top seven. Maggie Leland fired a four-over par, 75 to pick up the individual crown.

Tavia Rutherford got off to a good start with an opening round of 79, to tie for fourth and Davee Johnson carded a career-best 81 to tie 18th overall, which was also a career mark.

Sara Swaney, Tia Nihart and Kelsey Leif also competed for the Cougars. Swaney's 88 was good for 18th, while Nihart's 89 tied her for 19th. Leif tied for 26th following a 99 in the first event of the year.

Audrey Kiezwski, Ashley Heupel and Macy Milburn were USF's individual scorers. Kiezwski (99) tied with teammate Leif for 26th, while Heupel (103) and Milburn (103) matched one another for a 28th place finish.

Up next, the Cougars head to Drury University September 12 to play in the annual Lady Panthers Invite.
