The University of Sioux Falls dropped a 3-0 decision to Truman State University in a non-conference contest at home Sunday afternoon. A few early mistakes lead to a sizeable deficit that the Cougars were unable to overcome.

USF dropped to 0-4 and TSU moved to 3-1 on this season.

The Bulldogs scored all three goals in the initial 15 minutes of the game. TSU was handed the game's first score, as the Cougars deflected a blocked shot into their own net near the four minute mark. Two minutes later the Bulldogs again benefited from a loose ball in front of the net. Kelsey Twellman gained control of a Trisha Shoemaker missed shot and sent it in to give TSU a quick 2-0 lead.

TSU's third goal came in the 14th minute of the opening period. Megan Frkovic found a cutting Olivia Hayes who beat out the goalkeeper top shelf. Hayes' goal concluded the game's scoring.

After being outshot 7-3 in the first half, USF bounced back for a solid second half which was played fairly even. The Cougars put together some scoring chances, recording four shots and placing two on goal.

Maria Gonzalez led the way for USF's offensive attack with three shots on the day, while Mikenna Greathouse added two attempts for the Cougars including one on net.

Corrin Cook started in net for USF and will be credited with a loss. Cook falls to 0-4 in goal.

The Cougars travel to Minot, N.D. Saturday, September 15 to take on a familiar conference opponent in Minot State.
