Softball Announces Winter Camps
January 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
1:00-2:15 p.m.
Session 1 - Beginner Camp (7-11 year olds): This is for young batters who really need help with the fundamentals of hitting. Skills that will be learned include: getting into the batter's box, holding the bat properly and drills to develop a good swing.
2:30-3:45 p.m.
Session 2 - Advanced Camp (12-18 year olds): Focuses on a more in-depth approach to hitting. Drills will be more advanced and challenging for the athletes. The camp will include film evaluation using the RIGHT VIEW PRO software for each camper to see their swing and how to improve it.
Camps will be held in the Stewart Center on the campus of the University of Sioux Falls. Each session is limited to 25 campers in order to provide the best coach-to-athlete ratio.
Campers are encouraged to attend all four sessions, as the drills will progress with each session in order to give players the best opportunity to improve their habits in all aspects of softball.
University of Sioux Falls Cougar Softball
Camps offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction about
the fundamental skills of softball. Campers will be made aware of the
characteristics that define successful softball players. Organized games
between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have
been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner's attention,
which results in attentive practice. General courtesy, respect for teammates
and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers
through example by the Cougars coaches and players.
