Cougars in 5th at Augustana Spring Invite

The University of Sioux Falls women's golf team recorded a team score of 321 in the first round of the Augustana Spring Invitational Saturday afternoon at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. to sit in fifth place through day one. The Cougars currently have two players in the top 11 of the individual leaderboard in Kali Gottsleben and Tavia Rutherford.

Augustana took full advantage on their home course today, shooting a 302 to sit first in the team standings. Minnesota State and University of Nebraska-Omaha are tied in second, following a round of 309. Behind individual leader, Sam Falk, Gustavus Adolphus enters Sunday 11 strokes ahead of USF at 22-over par (310) for fourth place.

Kali Gottsleben fired USF's best opening round score today. She completed her outing three-over par to card a 75, tying her for fourth overall.

Tavia Rutherford accounts for the Cougars second player in the top 11 after recording a 78 to sit tied in 11th place.

Kelsey Leif and Davee Johnson represent USF's fifth and sixth official scorers. Leif is currently tied for 25th at nine-over par (81), while Johnson is tied for 47th with an 87. Tia Nihart finished her round in 96 strokes, which puts her at 62nd overall.

Jordan Wilkinson and Macy Milburn carded opening marks of 91 and 92, respectively. Wilkinson is tied for 52nd on the individual leaderboard and Milburn ranks 55th.

The Augustana Spring Invite continues Sunday with a shotgun start.
