2012 USF Soccer Summer Camps Announced
"Attending USF soccer camps this summer will benefit any soccer player who is looking to improve their game," said USF head coach Mekonnen Afa. "We have worked very hard to establish a fun and educational curriculum to better the skills of our local youth soccer players, and we are very excited about what our camps have to offer."
The U-6 camp will have a variety of activities and games added to the curriculum to keep the focus on having fun while learning skills, while the older players, ages 7-17, will be challenged at an appropriate level with more advanced activities for both field players and goalkeepers.
The youth camp will feature training in techniques such as finishing, passing, dribbling and ball control, as well as concentration on tactical development with full matches.
Campers are arranged in small groups with appropriate coach-to-player ratios to maximize learning opportunities. The camp's coaching staff includes student-athletes from both the men's and women's soccer teams to help demonstrate skills and drills.
The U-6 camp is $25 a session or $40 for two sessions. Session I will run from July 9-12; Session II is July 16-19 and Session III is August 6-9. The camp will be held 9:00-10:00 a.m. each day and each participant will receive a USF soccer camp t-shirt and a season pass to all USF soccer men's and women's home games.
The youth camps are for ages 7-17 and are also divided into three sessions. Session I will run from July 9-12; Session II is July 16-19 and Session III is August 6-9. The camp will be held 9:00-Noon each day and each participant will receive a USF soccer camp t-shirt and season pass to all USF soccer men's and women's home games.
