Tennis Drops Spring Break Match to William Smith
USF drops to 1-7 this season. William Smith is now 2-1.
Sophomore Rachel Hussey and freshman Morgan DeLange were beaten 8-3 at No. 1 doubles by senior Joanie Hilton and junior Kiara Ocasio. Sophomore Karlee Sieve and junior Caitlin Vance fell 8-1 to the senior tandem of Casey Kennedy and Katie Serock at No. 2. The Herons won by default at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Ahead 3-0 at the start of singles play, the Herons closed out the match with decisive victories from No. 1 to No. 6 singles. William Smith dropped just four games in singles play. USF also forfeited at number six singles (no entrants).
USF is back in action tomorrow against the Flying Dutch of Hope College (NCAA D-III, MIAA).
