Cindy Thompson Montrose, CO -- Volleyball & Track Cindy (Sostrom) Thompson earned varsity letters in Track and Volleyball from 1978 to 1982. Cindy was a member of back to back SDIC Volleyball Championship teams in 1980 and 1981. She was also a first team All-Conference volleyball player in 1981. In 1981, she became the first female athlete in the school's history to earn All-American status, by placing fifth in the 5000 meters at the AIAW Division 3 Track Championships. She earned the citywide FCA Honor Athlete award in 1982. She is a teacher and coach for the Homeschool Association in Montrose, CO. Family: Husband-Kevin; Four Children- Sarah, Nathan, Anna, and Micaiah. Thompson says: "USF gave me a wonderful beginning to my adult life. My experiences at USF have helped influence me still today. I learned so much about coaching from Sherry Halleen and because of, I feel I have much to offer as a coach. |
