"SID" began his career at USF in 1974. In his 26 years at the school, SID has served in numerous capacities including Sports Information Director, Equipment Manager, Intramural Director, and Athletic Director. SID became the Athletic Director in 1991 and has guided the Athletic Department through an outstanding growth stage. During his tenure, USF has claimed 16 SDIC Championships, 3 Regional Championships, and a National Championship in Football.

Kortemeyer says: "I have had the privilege to work with so many outstanding coaches and students who share the Christian mission of USF."
