In the shadow of the brand new press box, the University of Sioux Falls football team completed its final scrimmage of preseason practice Saturday afternoon at the USF Sanford Sports Complex.

A red card early in the University of Sioux Fall’s men’s soccer home-opening match gave the Cougars a one man disadvantage that aided in Davenport University’s 2-0 victory Thursday night.

The University of Sioux Falls is pleased to announce the promotion of Jenny Schneider to Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Schneider served as the Assistant Head Coach of the Cougar men’s and women’s golf teams during the 2010 spring golf season.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s soccer team started the season off on a positive note Saturday afternoon in Parkville, Mo., with a 3-1 win over Park University (0-1).Sophomore forward Brice Holiday (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took half the Cougar’s 10 shots, and connected with net on one shot with 12 minutes left in the game to seal the win.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s soccer team is coming off an exciting 2009 campaign that resulted in a second place finish in the regular season Great Plains Athletic Conference standings.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s soccer team will pick up where they left off last season. The 2009 men’s squad (10-8-1 overall, 9-2-1 GPAC) finished second in the regular season conference standings and earned the No. 2 seed in the GPAC tournament. This season, USF was voted second in the GPAC regular season coaches poll.

For the second straight season, the University of Sioux Falls will start the season No. 1 in the official NAIA Preseason Polls, released by the national office Monday evening.

University of Sioux Falls head football coach Jed Stugart is pleased to announce the latest additions to his coaching staff. Isaiah Jackson, Lee Marks and Zach Dickson will serve as graduate assistants on Stugart’s 2010 staff. Additionally former USF greats Dusty Hvoroka and Lavell Jackson will volunteer their time to help with coaching duties.

In the fall of 2009, the USF wrestling team participated in Volunteer Sioux Falls, a community-wide day of service impacting non-profit agencies.
