The University of Sioux Falls was tied with NAIA DII No. 1 Walsh University (30-2) with 15 minutes left in the game, but sharp free throw shooting down the stretch earned the Cavaliers a 98-90 win in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament in Branson, MO.

3/9/10 M. Basketball - USF to Play No. 1 Walsh University in Sweet 16
The University of Sioux Falls enjoyed a 69-65 victory over No. 16 Grandview University this morning in the first round of the NAIA DII Basketball Tournament, but the Cougars also set themselves up for a date with NAIA No.1 Walsh University (29-2 overall) of North Canton, Ohio.
3/9/10 M. Basketball - USF Advances to Sweet 16 of the NAIA Basketball Tournament
The University of Sioux Falls and Grand View University both held substantial leads, but the Cougars were able to close the gap on the Viking’s lead in the second half to force overtime, fitting for the No. 16, USF, and No. 17 teams in the NAIA.

The NAIA No. 17 University of Sioux Falls (24-9 overall) drew No. 16 Grandview University (25-7 overall) in their first round match-up of the NAIA National Tournament, held at Point Lookout, Mo. March 10-16.
3/3/10 M. Basketball - Four Cougars Recognized on GPAC All-Conference Men’s Basketball Team
Four University of Sioux Falls men’s basketball players earned a spot on the 2009-2010 all-Great Plains Athletic Conference team. This season USF has posted a 24-9 overall record, made a run to the GPAC title game and earned an automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament.

Only able to gain one lead for 13 seconds in the game, the University of Sioux Falls (24-9) lost in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship game 86-79 to NAIA No. 7 Dakota Wesleyan University (27-5) at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. tonight.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s basketball team will host an NAIA National Basketball Tournament selection party on Wednesday, March 2 at 3:30PM with the selection show beginning at 4:00. Fans are welcome to join the team at the Ivy Room, located at 2425 S. Shirley Ave. Ruby Tuesday food and beverages will be available for purchase.
2/27/10 M. Basketball - USF Men's Basketball Headed to GPAC Championship
It was a memorable Saturday afternoon for the Great Plains Athletic Conference No. 2 seed University of Sioux Falls (24-8 overall) as they not only earned an exciting 113-108 overtime victory against No. 3 seed Hastings College (NAIA No. 24; 23-8 overall) but also clinched a spot in the NAIA tournament, as top-seeded Dakota Wesleyan knocked off No. 5 seed Briar Cliff 73-55 in Mitchell.
