Competing as individuals, University of Sioux Falls sophomore cross country runners Joe Noyes (Redfield, S.D.) and Ashley Unruh (Freeman, S.D.) competed at the NAIA Cross Country National Championship Meet held at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site in Vancouver, Washington on Saturday morning.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s cross country team place ninth out of 13 teams at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships held in Freemont, Neb.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s and women’s cross country teams both took 9th place at the Mount Marty Invitational in Yankton, S.D Saturday afternoon.

The University of Sioux Falls men’s cross country team had several personal bests on their way to a eighth place finish at the Briar Cliff Invitational in McCook Lake, S.D.

The University of Sioux Falls women’s cross country team placed four runners under the 20 minute barrier to finish sixth at the Briar Cliff Invitational. Four of the seven Cougar competitors finished the 5,000 meter course (3.1 miles) with a personal best.

The University of Sioux Falls men's and women's cross country team competed in the USF Alumni/Community 5k this morning in cool and overcast conditions. Both the men's and women's teams were divided into intrasquad teams, with the "Purple" team taking the victory on both sides.

July 16-- University of Sioux Falls has announced Mark Heider as head men’s and women’s cross country coach. Heider will also serve as an assistant with the track and field program, working with mid-distance and distance runners. This fall Heider enters his third season with the Cougar cross country program.

The University of Sioux Falls Cross Country and Track programs will host several visit days during the 2009 fall semester. The purpose of the visit days is to help prospective students find out more about the University of Sioux Falls and its academic programs, athletics, financial aid, student life in general and application process.
