Kalen DeBoer has resigned as the head football coach at the University of Sioux Falls to become the offensive coordinator at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will be promoted to interim head coach and will be included in the pool of candidates in the search that will begin immediately.

The University of Sioux Falls is proud to announce 15 student-athletes as part of the 2010 recruiting class. The Cougars expect to add more players to the class over the coming weeks. Eight high school signees and seven college transfers make up the initial USF football recruiting class.

University of Sioux Falls head football coach Kalen DeBoer is the 2009 American Football Coaches Association NAIA Coach of the Year, as announced by the AFCA Tuesday afternoon. It is the third AFCA Coach of the Year Award for DeBoer, also receiving the award in 2006 and 2008. DeBoer was also the Region 4 NAIA Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

The University of Sioux Falls football team finished the season ranked No. 1 in the final NAIA football polls, completing a wire-to-wire No. 1 ranking for 2009.

Former University of Sioux Falls head football coach Bob Young is one of 15 members of the 2009-2010 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) hall of fame class.Young guided the Cougar football team from 1983-2004 and accumulated a 172-69-3 career record.

Eight University of Sioux Falls football players were named to College Fanz’s all-decade team, as announced by the network Tuesday. The Great Plains Athletic Conference had the most players named to the team with 14 overall.

Sioux Falls, S.D. (December 19, 2009) -- The University of Sioux Falls will host a welcome home celebration for the 2009 Football National Champion Cougars. The team is scheduled to arrive at the Stewart Center on Sunday, December 20 at 2:45PM.

The University of Sioux Falls capped a perfect season today at the NAIA national championship with a 25-22 win over No. 3 Lindenwood (13-1). The win capped USF's first 15 win season.

The NAIA national championship game pitting No. 1 University of Sioux Falls (14-0) against No. 3 Lindenwood University (13-0) will be aired on Midcontinent channel 23.

Cougar fans are encouraged to wear their Cougar gear and cheer on the USF football team in their quest for back-to-back national championships. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00AM. No. 1 USF defeats No. 4 SXU 48-6 in the semi-final round of the NAIA Playoffs. The Cougars will play in the NAIA National Title game in Rome, Georgia on December 19th.
