The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has approved advancement of the University of Sioux Falls into the second year of Division II candidacy. USF learned of their advancement during a conference call with the NCAA national office Monday morning.
6/7/10 W. Basketball - Chelsea DeVille Promoted to Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
University of Sioux Falls head women’s basketball coach is pleased to announce the promotion of Chelsea DeVille to the Cougar’s assistant basketball coach. DeVille was a graduate assistant on the 2009-2010 women’s team.
5/28/10 W. Basketball - USF’s Women's Basketball Fundamental Camp Canceled
The University of Sioux Falls women's basketball fundamental camp has been canceled. The fundamental camp for grades 3-8 on June 7-9 is still scheduled as advertised.
5/26/10 W. Basketball - USF Women’s Basketball Adds SDSU Transfer Vanessa Johnson
University of Sioux Falls head women’s basketball coach Travis Traphagen is pleased to announce the addition of South Dakota State University transfer Vanessa Johnson. The 5-9 guard will have two seasons of eligibility left.

University of Sioux Falls head women’s basketball coach Travis Traphagen is pleased to announce the signing of Baileigh O’Brien, an All-American transfer from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
4/28/10 W. Basketball - Maggie Malloy Transfers to USF; Joins Brother
University of Sioux Falls head women’s basketball coach Travis Traphagen is pleased to announce that Maggie Malloy, an All-GPAC player at Dakota Wesleyan University, has chosen to transfer to USF. Malloy will join her brother, Matt, an All-American guard and senior-to-be at USF.

University of Sioux Falls sophomore forward Betsy Hildreth (Norwalk, Iowa) is a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selection, as announced by the national office Tuesday evening.

University of Sioux Falls sophomore forward Betsy Hildreth (Norwalk, Iowa) is one of 29 finalists for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America team.

3/3/10 W. Basketball - Three Cougars Earn a Spot on All-GPAC Womens Basketball Team
The University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team placed three players on the 2009-2010 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference team. The trio helped USF to an 18-14 record this season that included two wins over NAIA top 5 teams and a home victory in the first round of the GPAC Playoffs.
2/25/10 W. Basketball - No. 4 Hastings Ends USF’s Season
It was a frustrating end to the season for the University of Sioux Falls (18-14 overall) women’s basketball team as they fell behind early and were never able to over come the lead NAIA No. 1 seed Hastings College (28-3 overall) built. Hastings defeated USF 76-49 Thursday night in Hastings, Neb.
2/23/10 W. Basketball - Women’s Basketball Advances to QuarterFinals with Defeat of Doane
In the first round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament the No. 8 seeded University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team (18-13 overall) advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 63-51 victory over No. 9 seed Doane College (12-18 overall) Tuesday night at the Stewart Center.

2/23/10 W. Basketball - GPAC Basketball Tournament Begins Tonight with USF vs. Doane College
The Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament begins tonight with No. 8 seed University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team (17-13 overall, 9-9 GPAC) hosting No. 9 seed Doane College (12-17 overall, 8-10 GPAC) at the Stewart Center. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and it is a “Storm the Stewie” night, with the first 50 students wearing white shirts getting in free.
2/20/10 W. Basketball - USF Women End Regular Season at No. 4 Northwestern College
The University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball ended their regular season with a 68-47 loss at NAIA no. 4 Northwestern College (24-4 overall, 15-3 Great Plains Athletic Conference).
2/13/10 W. Basketball - Tough Defense Limits USF in Home Finale
In their regular season home finale the University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team (17-12 overall, 9-8 GPAC) faced tough defense from No. 25 Concordia University (Neb.) (19-9, 10-7), as the Cougars dropped the game 48-38 Saturday afternoon in Sioux Falls.
2/12/10 Softball - Bouman and Maresh latest to commit to USF Women’s Basketball
University of Sioux Falls head women’s basketball coach is proud to announce two more additions to the 2010-2011 recruiting class. Baily Bouman from Pipestone, MN and Elise Maresh of Sioux Falls have verbally committed to the Cougars and will join the team in the fall of 2010.
2/10/10 W. Basketball - USF Pulls off Upset at No. 5 Briar Cliff
Freshman Holli Aggen (Worthington, MN) and sophomore Jami Hofer (Hartford, S.D.) had 14 points a piece as the University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team pulled off a 65-63 upset tonight at No. 5 Briar Cliff University (22-5 overall, 11-4 Great Plains Athletic Conference) in Sioux City, Iowa.
2/6/10 W. Basketball - Turnovers Plague Cougars in Second Half
The University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team (16-11 overall, 8-7 Great Plains Athletic Conference) were not able to capitalize on a 33-32 halftime lead against No. 12 Morningside College (16-9 overall, 9-5 GPAC). The Mustangs used a 23-4 second half run and 18 USF turnovers to take the 72-57 win at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls this afternoon.

USF's game vs. Morningside will be streamed today.The University of Sioux Falls men's basketball team (19-7 overall, 10-4 GPAC; No. 16 nationally) look for a win as they try to stay in the hunt for the GPAC regular season title and a first round GPAC playoff bye. The Morningside men are 10-14 overall, 4-9 GPAC.
2/3/10 W. Basketball - USF Women Take Rematch with DWU
The University of Sioux Falls women’s basketball team won a rematch at Dakota Wesleyan University (8-18 overall, 4-10 Great Plains Athletic Conference) 68-42 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. tonight. USF beat DWU 60-52 earlier this season.
