The University of Sioux Falls women’s soccer team suffered a 6-0 shutout loss to Park University (1-0) this afternoon in Parkville, Mo. The Pirates are receiving a vote in the first NAIA women’s soccer polls, after posting a 10-7-1 record in 2009.

Two University of Sioux Falls head coaches are proud to announce the latest addition to their recruiting classes. Gene Brooks, head track and field coach at the University of Sioux Falls, and Mekonnen Afa, head soccer coach, have announced that Amanda Bennes will attend USF next fall. Bennes was a dual sport athlete at Bismarck High School in Bismarck, N.D.

The University of Sioux Falls women’s soccer team lost to fourth seed Hastings College (13-3-3) by a score of 1-0 in overtime in Hastings, Neb. USF (10-8-1 overall), who had the fifth seed, was held to only four shots in the 98 minutes of play.

In a well-played affair, a goal by sophomore Tasia Murray (Sioux Falls, S.D.) in the double overtime period not only ended their scoreless streak (295 minutes, 51 seconds), but also snapped their two-game losing skid, pacing the University of Sioux Falls women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Doane College Saturday afternoon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Fighting brazen, windy conditions, the University of Sioux Falls women’s soccer team fell for the second straight contest, this time a 1-0 defeat against rival Dakota Wesleyan University Tuesday night in Sioux Falls, S.D.
10/4/09 Athletics General - USF Women’s Soccer Lose First GPAC Match to Hastings College
The University of Sioux Falls women’s soccer team (6-4 overall, 4-1 Great Plains Athletic Conference) entered the match against Hastings College (8-1-2, 3-0-2) with an undefeated GPAC record. However, the Broncos outshot the Cougars by a count of 16-3, knocking three goals in to take a 3-0 victory over USF.
