Senior Katie Farley (Brandon, S.D.), junior Andrea Hacker (Spokane, Wash.) and junior Jamie Sorensen (Omaha, Neb.) have been named Great Plains Athletic Conference softball honorable mention selections, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

It was a strong end to the 2010 season for the University of Sioux Falls softball team (11-25 overall, 8-16 GPAC) as they earned a thrilling 6-5 victory in game two of their doubleheader against Doane College (21-18, 13-11) Saturday after dropping a 6-5 decision in game one. USF ended the season strong with 10 victories in their final 16 ballgames.

The University of Sioux Falls softball team will wear pink uniforms this weekend in support of cancer awareness in their double-header against Dana College this Saturday, April 24 at Sherman Park.

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls softball team extended their streak thanks to a few of big offensive innings and managing to stay away from big innings by Concordia. In the USF wins, 5-4 and 5-2, all 10 Cougar runs were scored in three innings.

With a sweep of Briar Cliff University today, the University of Sioux Falls softball team has won three of its last four contests. USF (4-20 overall, 3-11 Great Plains Athletic Conference) had solid pitching in both games, taking 2-1 and 4-1 wins over the Chargers in Sioux City, Iowa.

The University of Sioux Falls softball team won one of two games at Northwestern College (6-20 overall, 3-9 Great Plains Athletic Conference) in Orange City, Iowa last night. USF (2-20 overall, 1-11 GPAC) took the first game 3-1, but lost the second contest 4-1.
