Gene Brooks, Director of Track and Field at the University of Sioux Falls, is pleased to announce the hiring of Erin Elder as throws coach.

University of Sioux Falls senior Chad Aurich (Mayer, MN) and sophomore Sarah Gilbert (Papillion, Neb.) both scored points on the final day of the 2010 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Marion, Ind. The USF women finished in 19th place with 17.50 points. Aurich scored the only 1.50 points for the USF men.

Limited opportunities to score and some tough breaks by the University of Sioux Falls women’s track and field team has dropped the Cougars from first to 11th at the 2010 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marion, Ind.

A second and third place in the pole vault by sophomore Kayla Friesen (Alliance, Neb.) and freshman Brigitte Gross (Alexandria, S.D.) at the 2010 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships has put the University of Sioux Falls women’s track and field team in the tie for first place with 14 points.

Near perfect conditions at the University of Sioux Falls’ Lillibridge Track and Field Complex helped produced 17 NAIA automatic and 13 provisional marks today at USF’s Last Chance Meet.

The 2010 USF Track and Field Last Chance schedule is attached. The field events start at 11:00 a.m. and track events start at noon at the Lillibridge Track and Field Complex located at 69th and Cliff.

A few more members of the University of Sioux Falls men’s and women’s track and field team qualified for the NAIA National Meet this afternoon at the Cougar’s first home meet of the season at the Lillibridge Track and Field Complex in Sioux Falls.

The University of Sioux Falls women’s track and field team finished fourth at the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships in Hastings, Neb. late last night.

The University of Sioux Falls track and field team will be offering summer camps for high school athletes throughout the month of June that will target all phases of the sport. The camps will take place in July at the Lillibridge Track on the corner of 69th and Cliff Ave.

The University of Sioux Falls women’s 4x400 meter relay has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference track athletes of the week, as announced by the conference office Thursday morning.
