University of Sioux Falls volleyball head coach Lisa Mathes-Peters is proud to announce the signing Rachel Hussey to the class of 2010. “Rachel will be a great asset to our volleyball program” said Mathes-Peters.

University of Sioux Falls junior Rachel Heeney (South Sioux City, Neb.) has been selected to the Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball second team, as announced by the conference office Wednesday.

The University of Sioux Falls volleyball team placed two juniors in this week’s Great Plain Athletic Conference/HAUFF Mid-America Sports awards. Junior Amber Sneller received Setter of the Week and junior Rachel Heeney was named the Libero of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Despite a strong effort, the University of Sioux Falls volleyball team had their season come to an end as they fell to No. 2 ranked Northwestern College in three sets (25-21, 25-20 and 26-24) Saturday evening in Orange City, Iowa. USF ends their season with a record of 19-19 overall.

Hosting the first Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament match under head coach Lisa Mathes-Peters, the University of Sioux Falls volleyball team defeated Midland Lutheran College (22-25, 30-28, 25-11, 19-25, 15-9).

Sioux Falls, S.D. (October 31, 2009) – The University of Sioux Falls Cougars secures home court advantage for the first round of the GPAC volleyball tournament with a 3-0 win over Mount Marty. The win marks the team’s third in a row, each coming in three sets.

The University of Sioux Falls volleyball team (17-18 overall, 5-10 Great Plains Athletic Conference) defeated Dakota Wesleyan University in three sets (25-10, 25-16 and 25-18) at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls tonight.

The University of Sioux Falls volleyball team defeated Dakota State University (8-16 overall) in three sets (28-26, 25-14, 25-14). With the victory USF (16-18 overall, 4-10 Great Plains Athletic Conference) surpasses its win total from a season ago.

The University of Sioux Falls volleyball team was swept in three games (25-11, 25-20 and 25-19) by Midland Lutheran College Saturday afternoon in Fremont, Neb. The Cougars (15-18 overall, 4-10 GPAC) now sit in a tie for ninth in the standings with the Warriors (8-15, 4-10).
